The ‘Quickshift’ gear lever kit is a must-have addition for those who enjoy spirited driving or alternatively drivers involved in a form of motorsport where the gear changes need to be timed to perfection; keeping engine revs at the optimum level to maintain engine torque.
The standard gear lever has a leverage ratio of 8:1 – which refers to the approximate travel of 140mm, between 1st & 2nd and 3rd & 4th gear
In contrast to this the Mini Sport ‘Quickshift’ gear lever has a leverage ratio of 4:1 with an approximate travel of 70mm between 1st & 2nd and 3rd & 4th, a 80mm reduction in travel. This reduction in lever travel promotes faster gear changes in every gear and in addition, provided a much more precise and responsive gear selection for the driver.
