What is a Wiring Loom?
A wiring loom is an assembly of all the cables & wires in your Mini, instead of running each individual wire, which can be in the hundreds. They are bound together by a durable material – usually PVC harness tape or cloth braiding, depending on the Mini model.
The wiring loom in a Mini is the most complex part of the electrical system. With the wires & cables bound together, the loom optimises the use of the limited space available & also decreases the fitting time. Meaning the loom must be well planned out, with the engineer needing to know the wire runs, the colour, location, length & identification of each individual wire. Then through the use of engineering drawings the wiring can be put together to connect sub-assemblies & major components together.
The wiring loom is also one of the most important parts in your Mini, without this - you're not driving anywhere!

By bringing this in house we have full control over the entire process, crafted y our specialist team here in Padiham, to ensure that we pour our knowledge, along with using top quality components, we provide a High Quality, reliable, Wiring Loom.
Each of the Mini Sport Wiring Looms are made by hand, this is due to the sheer number of processes involved, including routing wires through sleeves & fasteners , each process is checked as the loom is built.
This process can take anywhere between a day (for a standard loom) to a week (for a bespoke loom). Producing wiring looms is a lengthy process that shouldn't be undertaken by just anyone, with a number of complicated factors to be considered:

i have a 1983 mini van which is undergoing a massive restoration with plenty of changes. my question is can i replace the original wiring loom with one from lets say a 1993 mini with a carb i am putting a newer engine with a pr engaged starter. i am also changing to the 3 clock dash .
