Passing cables through panels, especially the dashboard, requires precision and care. Grommets are essential for protecting cables from sharp edges. For connectors that are tricky to fit through, like the ECU plug for the wiring harness, it’s best to leave the finishing plugs off until everything is in place. We recommend using the same rubber grommet as the wiper motor for the front bulkhead to ensure a snug fit.
The routing of wires around the roll cage and through the footwell requires careful planning to avoid potential damage. In the Bogus 2, we’ve chosen to route cables along the sill, ensuring they are protected from impact and foot traffic. This approach keeps the wiring safe without compromising accessibility.

The heart of the Bogus 2's electrical system is a combination of three looms: the bespoke main loom, the Canems ECU loom, and the ETB Digi-Dash 2 Lite loom. Merging these requires precision soldering and proper insulation using heat-shrink tubing. This not only ensures reliable connections but also protects the newly painted surfaces from potential damage.
The choice between thick-wall and thin-wall wiring is crucial. While thin-wall wires are common in modern cars and can handle higher amperages, thick-wall wiring provides additional durability. In high-stress areas, we recommend using thick-wall wiring to prevent wear and tear.
A clean and organised installation isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about protecting your investment. Using split trunking, shrink-wrap, and other protective materials helps safeguard the loom from water, heat, and abrasion. For components exposed to water, like the wiper motor plug, applying 3-in-One White Lithium Grease prevents corrosion.
Ensuring that your fuses and relays are easily accessible is key to ongoing maintenance. We’ve mounted the relays and fuse box on a 90-degree angle bracket for easy access. It’s also important to keep the ECU and Digi-Dash interfaces accessible for future tuning. Shop all Electrical Components >
